Kienbock's
Disease
No, this
is not a disease of the eye. But watch out. You can have it
and not know it. And many doctors won't know it either. The
causes are not exactly known. Some suspect heredity. Others attribute
it to repetitive motion and some of us that have it got it from trauma.
The fact is that it is a relatively obscure condition that has not received
a lot of treatment. Some of us that suffer from it have gotten together
via the Internet and a website
devoted to Kienbock's has been established. (All the thanks and credit
goes to Angela.)
If you
have been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or some wrist strain that
"will get better" but doesn't, you may have this problem. Reduced
range of motion (ROM) and grip strength with continual pain in the wrist
are possible symptoms. It progressively gets worse. Check out
the website and read some correspondence
from those of us who have the disease. Or you can contact us via
email at kienbock information center.
