Sibling Rivalry
Florida - On a sunny Sunday afternoon two young, dynamic tennis superstars battled for the right to be called champion. Adding to the pressure was the fact that these two female phenoms were the sisters Venus and Serena Williams. This was one of the few times in the history of women's tennis that two sisters had met in the finals of a tournament. The Lipton Championships is a fairly well known event. It is a prestigious tournament second to only the Grand Slam events in popularity.

As the match unfolded Serena seemed tense and tentative as she committed many mental mistakes and rarely hit a winner. Venus cruised to victory in the first set 6-1. Down 3-4 in the second set Serena rallied to win four straight games and the second set 6-4. Venus won the third and final set 6-4 as she retained her number 6 ranking in the world. Serena committed an incredible 66 unforced errors to Venus's 44. When Venus won the last point and the match she barely cracked a smile as she shook hands with her sister. The competitiveness had subsided and they were sister's once again.
