A word
about our RUNS
The Run Sub-Committe
consists of some 50 experienced hares who know all of Malaysia's beautiful
hash coutry and terain. There will be 30 run sites with various lengths
of runs short, medium, long and a special "BALL
BREAKER RUN"
The Malaysian jungle
is filled with colourful flora and fauna. Most large animals like elephants
and tigers are man-shy and live deep in the jungle. Only an ocasional elephant's
poop or tiger's pug marks can be seen on long hash runs set in remote places.
However snakes are common and the king cobra co-exists with hashmen and
nature in frequently hashed oil palm estates. Big pythons are a rare sight.
The Ball Breaker Run offers
a chance for the young and the brave to see the unexpected creatures of
the Malaysian wild.
Buses will leave at 11:30
AM for the Ball Breaker Run and 3:00 PM sharp for the other runs from the
Merdeka Stadium Carpark. Your Hash Magazine will have instructions for
which Bus to take to get to the Run of your choice.
Registrants
please note that the InterHash '98 Official hotel is the Shangri La Hotel.
The venue for all Hash
Functions will be at the Merdeka Stadium. It is also the pick-up and drop-off
point for all the Runs.
Shuttle bus passes between
designated Interhash hotels and Merdeka Stadium will be on sale during
registration. Cost is US$10 for the three days.

Public transportation
Information (16th
Sept Update)
There are two types
TAXI SERVICES- Premier service which is a larger car. Fare is RM 91.20(about
USD24). The other is the Budget service which is a smaller car. Fare is
RM66.20 (about USD17.50).
The Premier Service counter
is located just before you exit the international arrival (tourist trap!).
A Budget and Premier service counter is available about 50 meters to your
right as you exit the International arrival. Each taxi will take up to
three passengers. The exception is the MPV at the Premier service that
fit up to 4 passengers.
Bus services to KL are
available. The counters are located next to the taxi service counters.
They depart about every half hour. The semi luxury cost RM16 per person
and the luxury bus cost RM23. I think the difference is better seats in
the luxury bus. The ride takes about 1 hour. The drop off is at the Duta
Terminal which is near to the city. A taxi ride from there to your hotel
will cost around RM10.
There is also a airport
to KL hotel bus service that cost RM25. The service lists about 25 major
KL hotels (including Shangri La). This is the same service as the luxury
bus except you pay RM25. At the Duta terminal you will be transfered to
a coach for the ride to the hotel.
Bus service runs from
around 07:00 AM - 12:30 midnite
