Rock advance to second consectutive title game with hard fought win

The Toronto Rock (10-3) withstood a Wings (7-6) charge throughout the middle thirty minutes of Saturday's game, using four goals in the first 3 minutes of the fourth to break a 7-7 tie and went on to win 14-10 over Philadelphia in front of a crowd of about 10,000 at Maple Leaf Gardens. Jim Veltman was named the game MVP for his one goal, 5 assist, and 17 loose ball performance. The Wings had a pair of 5 point players as well, Kevin Finneran (2,3) and Mark Millon (1,4).

The game started off in similiar fashion as last year rout, with the Rock getting off to a commanding 5-1 lead early in the secon quarter, before the Wings went on a 6-2 run that ended ended in the third to tie the game at 7.

The Rock advance to their second championship in as many years, and will host the Rochester Knighthawks in the final game of the 2000 season.
