Rock lock up 2nd straight playoff berth with impressive 14-10 victory over Pittsburgh

Gary Gait was held to just one goal and one assist, while Paul was held to four goals, as Pittsburgh (6-5) fell to the Rock (7-3) in front of 15,050 fans in Maple Leaf Gardens, and the Fire now has to hope for help to make the postseason for the third straight season. The Rock played smothering defense, and were led offensively by Game MVP Kaleb Toth with 3 goals and an assist. Paul Gait and Joe Hiltz were the leading scorers for the Crossefire.

Syracuse rolls over and plays dead for the Attack

The Albany Attack (6-3) continue to roll, winning their fifth straight game in impressive fashion, beating the hapless Syracuse Smash 17-6 in front of 1,873 fans at the Onondaga War Memorial. The Smash were led by Jeff Wilfong, who tallied three times. The Attack were led by Ted Dowling with 7 points, and game MVP Troy Cordingley with 6 points.

Rochester 12 @ New York 10

Promising beginning to game ends badly for Saints; just like season

The New York Saints (3-9) blew leads of 6-3 after one, 8-7 after two, and 9-8 after three to lose to the Knighthawks (6-4) 12-10 in front of 4,659 fans witnessing the Saints last home game of the year. The Saints managed to socre only 2 goals after halftime. Cory Bomberry was name game MVP for his one goal, five assist performance for Rochester.

Syracuse 10 @ Rochester 23

Smash fall to 0-18 away from home; crushed for third straight game

The owner gave up on the Smash (0-10) by selling the best players to opposing teams, getting only cash or draft picks in return. It now appears the payers have give up, too, content to coast to the worst season in NLL history after being crushed for the third straight game, this time the Rochester Knighthawks (7-4) in front of 8,102 fans at the Blue Cross Arena. John Grant, Jr., led the Hawks with 11 points, including 6 goals, and was names game MVP. The Smash were led by Del Halladay with 7 points (3G, 4A).

Bandits set Wings up for a knockout blow with 4th quarter run...

For the second straight week, the Wings (5-4) looked to be on their way to establishing their dominance over on of the better teams in the National Lacrosse League. However, after opening up a 6-2 lead early in the second quarter, everything fell apart for the Wings, allowing Buffalo (7-3) to score 14 of the last 19 goals, including the last 4, to win 16-11 in front of 10,396 fans at HSBC Arena Saturday night. John Tavares had a big night for the winners, scoring 6 and assisting on 2 others. The Wings were led by Jake Bergey with six points.

...but Wings slip by Albany, keeping playoff hopes alive

Only 15 hours after the Wings (6-4) season was put in serious jeopardy by a discouraging 16-11 beating at the hands of the Bandits, the Wings revived their hopes with a dramatoic, come from behind, 13-12 overtime victory over the Albany Attack (6-4) in front of 5,933 fans at the Pepsi Arena Sunday. This marked the Wings second overtime victory over the Attack this year. Jake Bergey was named Game MVP with 2 goals and 3 assists, while John McEvoy tallied the OT game winner. Josh Sanderson led the Attack with 5 points.
