Expansion franchise picks up first win in first home game

The Attack (1-1) took a lead in the second quarter and never looked back as they beat the Crossefire(1-1) in front of 8,044 fans at the Pepsi Arena Friday night. The Attack used 12 points from emering star and Game MVP Josh Sanderson (5G, 7A) to counter Gait's 12 points (also 5G, 7A) for Pittsburgh. Gait also missed the leagues first penalty shot of the year. Also having a big night for the Attack was Ted Dowling with 8 points (7G, 1A). The Crossefire charged backed in the fourth, outshooting the Attack 20-8 in the final stanza. Blasdell held tough, however saving 14 of those 20 in the fourth and 42 of 61 overall. The loss puts the Crossefire in a tough position, with their next two games being @ Rochester and home against Philadelphia.

Syracuse comes on strong, but ends up short

Game MVP Chris Levis, who was only in net because no other Saints goaltender was available, made 42 saves to lead the Saints (1-1) over the Smash (0-2) in front of 4,210 fans at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Colosseum. The Smash fall to 0-14 on the road all time. Mark Millon led all scorers with 9 points (5G, 4A) and Matt Panetta and Roy Colsey each had with points for the Saints.

Rochester shut down second Gait in a row, takes over first place

The nightmare that Pittsburgh (1-2) hoped would not happen has. They lost two straight this weekend, the most recent a 18-14 defeat to the Knighthawks in front of 9,436 in the Blue Cross Arena Saturday. Rochester both started the game and ended the game on four goal runs, enough to keep their record unblemished. John Grant, Game MVP, led the Knighthawks with 9 points (4G, 5A). Gait led the Crossefire scores with 7 points (1G,6A).
