Pittsburgh (4-3) jumped out to a 6-0, then fell behind 7-6, then went up 10-8, before going on to a 20-15 home win in front of 5,074 fans at Mellon Arena. Paul Gait had a big night for the Fire, while Roy Colsey had his usual big night for the Saints (3-5). This may spell the end of the Playoff hunt for the Saints, who picked up their 5th loss of the season in only 8 games.

Game MVP Ted Dowling led the Attack (3-3) over his old Rochester Knighthawks (3-4) in a 17-15 Attack win in front of 6,843 at the Blue Cross Arena. Dowling led the Attack with 6 goals, while Josh Sanderson scored three for the visitors. Only the play of John Grant kept this one from being a rout, as he scored 4 goals and added four helpers in the loss. The Knighthawks also also Casey Powell to a sprained knee.

Buffalo (4-2) did something this week that no one else has been able to do. They beat the Rock (4-2) in Toronto in front of 14,075 fans at Maple Leafs Gardens this Saturday. The Bandits were led by John Tavares with 4 goals and 2 assists, while Matt Disher outplayed Bob Watson. Buffalo had started slowly, falling behind 5-0, but then scored the next nine goals and 18 of the last 25 to cliam the victory. The victory puts the Bandits in first place in the NLL, tied with Philadelphia and Toronto, but winning the tiebreaker.

Paul Gait looked reborn in a Crossefire (5-3) uniform Saturday, scoring 7 goals and assisting on 4 others to take Game MVP honors in front of 18,911 fans at the First Union Center. The Wings (4-2) were unable to go on a late run. After closing to 11-8 middway through the fourth quarter, the Crossefire quickly scored to put the game out of reach. The Wings were led by Jake Bergey, with four assists. The Crossefire remained in fourth place, although they are now only percentage points behind the top three teams, and have won the season tiebreaker with the Wings.
