The Usual Suspects
'RAOTL' is produced by editor John Pearman, a Kopite of many
years standing (though the last few have been sitting down) and his co-editor John Mackin,
along with designer and layout expert, Andrew Knott. 'RAOTL' first appeared in November
1995. Issue one was produced by John P himself and was a sterling effort, if I may say.
John has followed The Reds since the early 60s and travels EVERYWHERE to watch them play -
except... no, let's not be petty. John is responsible for overall control, and liason with
LFC, the police and other fanzines in the UK. JJP, as he is known, can be e-mailed on john.pearman@liverpool-fc.net
John
Mackin, as well as contributing articles etc. to the fanzine under a variety of
pseudonyms (he's a bit shy), is also responsible for creating, designing and maintaining
this website, over which he has editorial control. John's been a Kop season ticket holder
since 1973, tho' he claims to have been at Anfield, with his dad, to watch us clinch the
title in 1966, at the age of 6. John's 'speciality' is the overseas stuff: European travel
guides and liason with Supporters Clubs and fans all over the world. If you run a club -
get in touch. John Mac can be e-mailed on johnny.mac@liverpool-fc.net
Andy
Knott prints the fanzine at his sweatshop in downtown Kowloon Harbour, Hong Kong
and is responsible for Art Direction and Design. The greatly improved 'look' of the mag is
down to the hard work of everyone at Expressions (the printers) particularly Andrew and
Neil. When not wandering around outside The Kop with a red kagoule stuffed with pound
coins, he can often be seen at the wheel of his new silver Escort giving John Mac a lift
to various away games. E-mail Andy at Expressions on andy.knott@liverpool-fc.net
Sue
Roberts, acts as our banker, ticket fund collector and match-day sales organiser.
If it wasn't for Sue's hard work JJP would be in the debtor's nick by now. Sue is also a
never ending source of chocolate on matchdays.
Where to find it
The fanzine is on sale at most Liverpool games (home and away) - that's if we
haven't sold out. Sellers dotted around the ground but to make sure you get a copy try The
Kop end at Flagpole corner where there is always someone selling - usually JJP. standing
in front of a pile of soggy cardboard boxes. At away games we will be as close to the away
end turnstiles as the police will allow (Which means at Villa we'll be hiding behind a
telephone box in Stoke).
The fanzine is
also on sale at Our Price Music (nr. Central Station, Liverpool); Sportspages - St Annes
Sq. Manchester & their London branch off Charing Cross Road (Caxton Walk); Piccadilly
Records in Manchester. Also available at Liverpool Supporters Club at 212, Breck Road
(opposite the 'Cabbage Hall' pub). It is also available at 'The Kop Shop' in Oslo, Norway
and from The Kinsale Tavern at 1672 3rd Ave (between 93 & 94
St.) in New York City Tel: (212) 348 4370 (Ask for Fiona). We are trying to expand into a
number of outlets in the US & Canada. If your supporters club meets in a bar - let us
know and we'll see what we can do.
If you belong
to a supporters club ANYWHERE in the world and have difficulty in getting hold of a copy
then ask your branch to get in touch. We can usually arrange for copies to be sent
overseas at very competitive rates.
