September - December 1998

This picture taken by a nurse just minutes after Ana's birth 9/23/98. Ana was 9 weeks premature and weighed 3 lbs 4.6 oz. She would have shunt surgery for hydrocephalus 6 days later.

I can't remember was she ever really this small? Taken at the St. Joseph's Hospital NICU in Tampa during Ana's first week.

Taken 10/14/98, I had stopped by the NICU on the way home. It was nearly midnight and a nurse took the picture. I got to know the nurses on the night shift well. Ana is 3 weeks old.

Taken at St. Joseph's on 11/07/98, the day Ana came home from the hospital, we sometimes jokingly refer to this as "Queen Ana's" picture!
