"Oh, Michaela!" Sully exclaimed before he picked her up out of the water into his arms and kissed her. "I love ya so much! We've waited so long!" He spun her around and around in the water. "I know, Sully, I can't believe it myself. I guess Colleen and Andrew's wedding day will be one we won't ever forget!" She said with a smirk on her face. "Does that mean February?" Sully asked. "Yes! Dr Bernard believes sometime near Valentines!" She exclaimed still smiling. "I had a feeling you were pregnant, because the last time you were so tired was right before we found out about Katie." "I know, Sully. I had a feeling but I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to be disappointed. After the miscarriage I never..." Michaela was cut off by Sully kissing her. "Don't think about the bad things, only good, remember? This is a blessing, Michaela. Let's think about the present, and not the past, ok?" Sully asked with his deep blues eyes staring at her. "Alright, Sully. I know you're right, but I still can't believe it! Katie will no longer be the baby!" Michaela said rather sadly. "And I think she will be a great older sister, and this one will be our baby. It just shows how much we love each other and how our family keeps on growin. Now I think it's time ta get ya out of your wet clothes. I don't want ya catching a cold and getting sick. We have a baby to think about." He said as he carried her out of the water. "Sully, you don't have to carry me yet. I'm still very capable of moving around myself!" She scolded. "I know, but I love holdin ya." He told her with a smile. "Michaela, how are we gonna tell Brian and Matthew and Colleen? They will be kinda surprised to find this out, and I don't think I can keep a secret like this one for long, or you for the matter! We both can't stop smilin!" he chuckled. "Well, if we can keep our 'secret' for a couple more weeks, we could tell eveyone when Colleen and Andrew come for a visit! I want everyone to be here when we tell them they're going to have a new brother or sister!" Michaela said excited. "Well, I guess two weeks aint such a bad idea. Besides, I kinda like having a secret that only you and I know!" "Sully, I love you so much! You are alway so understanding. What did I do to deserve you?!" Michaela asked with love in her eyes. "It was destiny Michaela, we were meant to be. We didn't do anything to deserve each other! You fill me with so much love Michaela, so much more than Abigal. I love you so much more then I did with her. You have given more than anything I can give you in return. And now, you're givin me the gift of another baby. I love ya so much Michaela!" He said as he kissed her with all the emotion he could. He was rubbing his arms up and down her shoulders as the kiss grew deeper. Michaela rubbed his suntaned back with her hands. They started to roll on the ground as they kept the kiss growing longer and more passionate. Finally after they both were tired and breathless the kiss was ended. "I think we should get back before Brian gets home," Sully told her trying to catch his breath. "I think you're right, plus I wouldn't mind getting out of these wet clothes!" Michaela told him. As soon as they both caught their breath and ready to get moving, Sully helped Michaela up into the wagon and sat beside her. Michaela was feeling reather drowsy and set her head on Sully's shoulder. He put his arm around her to protect her from falling while the other hand held the reigns. Soon after they left the waterfall, Sully looked at Michaela.and noticed she had shut her eyes. She was asleep. This time he knew why she was asleep and it didn't bother him. She had given him a great gift, they were going to have baby! He wanted to make this time the best he could for Michaela. She had been through so much and she deserved to be happy. He placed his hand more firmly around Michaela's shoulders as he turned back to look at the road ahead to the homestead. "Come in!" Michaela said while not stopping to write in a patient's record. "Mornin' Dr. Mike, this just came for ya, I just thought ya would like to see it." Horace told her as he walked over to her desk and placed the telegram into Mike's awaiting hand. "Thank you, Horace. I appreciate you delievering it to me." She said with a smile "I'm just doing my job, Dr Mike. Well, I gotta get back to the telegraph office. Have a nice day." He said as he walked back out the clinic door. "You too, Horace" Michaela yelled back to him as she shifted her eyes to the telegraph. It was from Colleen. She scanned the letter and a wide smile grew on her face. She quickly looked at the clock and got up out of her chair. She went over to pick up Katie. "Come on, Katie, we have to go see Papa. We have to tell him some news!" and with that they were out the door. Sully was talking to Robert E. when he saw Michaela coming around the corner. He quickly got concerned and started to walk toward her. "Michaela, is everythin alright? Are ya feeling ok?" He asked quickly. "Yes, everything is wonderful Sully. Horace just gave me a telegram, it was from Colleen. She and Andrew are going to be coming home sooner then expected. She said she will be arriving tomorrow! Can you believe it?! Now we don't have to worry about spilling out secret!" She said with a smile. "That's great, Michaela! I don't think I can hold it in another day! But promise me, not to overdue it. It's only Colleen and I don't want ya wearing yourself out or getting yourself sick. Take it easy ok?" He warned her. "I promise, Sully. I don't want anything to happen either, I'll take it easy!" She told him as she quickly kissed him. "I have to go and buy some grocieries! I have to bake, I have to clean and I only have one day!" She said rushing off. "Michaela, you promised to take it easy!" He yelled to her back. He shook his head. No matter how hard he tried, Michaela always had her mind set on her plans. "Don't worry, Sully! I will. Promise." "Afternoon, Dr. Mike. What can I help ya with?" Loren asked as Michaela and Katie walked into the Merchantile. "Good afternoon, Lauren. I need some flour, sugar..." and the list went on as Michaela spoke. "What's the occasion? Lauren asked as he placed the last of her order in the box. CONTINUED |
