The train arrived in Denver not long after sunrise. The wistle blew as the train came to a screeching hault. A large crowd was on the platform awaiting family members but Sully and Michaela didn't notice as they walked off hand in hand from their private train car. They walked over to the hotel which was not far into town and walked in. It wasn't like the hotels in Boston, but it was very fancy. There was a glass chandalier in the main area with a beautiful velvet couch. The hotel room doors were painted white with gold plated lettering. The main desk was a deep brown and very shiny with brass edging. A well dressed middle aged man with small circular glasses was absorbed in his book keeping as the newlyweds made their way over to the desk. "May I help you?" The gentleman looked up from his bookeeping with a very friendly smile on his face while taking his glasses away from his eyes. "Yes," Sully answered as he looked towards Michaela. "We have a room.. under.." "Ahh yes.. Sully," The gentleman finished. "An Elizabeth Quinn told me about you two. May I be the first to Congradtulate you too. Your room is all ready and your bags are inside. Here, let me show you where you are staying." With that Sully gave a surprised look towards Michaela and took her arm in his as they followed the man down a long well light hallway to one of the last doors. It read "Suite 12b H". "Well here it is. The finest room in the whole place may I add. Just ring if you need anything!" And with that he handed Sully the key and walked off. "Well, lets take a look shall we?" Sully spoke up before inserting the key into the lock and opening it. Michaela was about to go in when Sully lifted her into his arms. "Sully!" She was caught of guard. "A husband gots ta carry his wife over the threshold!" And with that Sully went inside and kicked the door shut behind him. Once inside Sully gave Michaela a passionate kiss. This was the first full day of being husband and wife. “Sully?” Michaela finally spoke inbetween short kisses. “Hmm?” He continued to kiss her on the lips and neck. “Do you think you could put me down now?” She laughed. Sully stopped his action and leaned his head back to look at her. He burst out laughing as he slowly set her down so her feet could touch the floor. Michaela quickly hugged Sully as she continued to laugh. ****************************************************** “What do ya think ma’s doing right now?” Brian asked innocently to the family which was sitting around one of Grace’s Café tables. “I could probably tell ya..” Hank suggested with a smirk on his unshaven face. “Don’t you dare, Hank!” Dorothy scolded, giving him a glare. “I bet I’d be closer to the truth than any of you!” Hank kept going.Everyone except Brian gave him a glare which said “shut up, or I’ll make you shut up!” “I bet they are thinking about all of you children right now,” Rebecca spoke up in her cheerful tone of voice. “They are probably thinking what you are doing right now.” “Don’t worry, Brian. Whatever they are doing.. they are probably enjoying their time together.” Colleen tried to say innocently. “You can say that again!” Hank said sarcastically. “Honestly Hank, don’t you have anythin’ better to do?” Grace scolded as she poured more milk into Brian’s cup. “Alright, alright.. I’m going. But you know where to find me if ya want the truth.” With that Hank strutted off. *************************************** "Michaela?" Sully called walking into their hotel room. "In here!" Michaela called from the door that led to the indoor bathroom. She soon came out with pins sticking out of her mouth and her hands up trying to pin her long silky up. Sully absorbed the beauty of her. She was now his wife. He loved the sound of that. "Sully.. do you..umm.. think you could help me get into my dress?" Michaela asked somewhat embarrest. Sully silently chuckled before walking over to her. Michaela had already pulled on the deep red silk gown, which she had bought from her trip to Boston. "Just do up the buttons. I never can reach!" Michaela looked sideways to see Sully. As Sully was buttoning up her dress he kissed her neck. "I'd rather be taking this off of ya.." "Well, I guess you have something to look forward to... don't you Mr. Sully?" Michaela asked slyly. Sully gave her a smile. He loved her eagerness. He never knew this side of Michaela, but he loved it. "There. All done." Sully did the last button and turned Michaela around to face him. "May I be the first to say, you are very beautiful this evening." "You may." Michaela smiled. She grabbed the side of his suit. "May I say how handsome you look tonight Sully." "You may.." Sully bent down to kiss Michaela. "Would you give the pleasure of accompanying me to some dinner and some theater?" Sully questioned. "I most certainly would." Michaela said simply before taking his arm in hers and walking out the door together. CONTINUED |
