Hello from Edward, Feng and Yueping

Hi, friends, we live and play in Seal Beach, CA. The city Seal Beach is a very small town in southern California. We love our adopted town. It has nice beaches and small shops. There is only one k-5 elementary school, McGaugh, where Edward went. Our offices are located at the city of Huntington Beach, less than 7 miles driving distance from our house.

In December 2006, we wrote

During the winter break, Edward went to Maui with his best friend Zack for a week. At the end of Year 2006, we had a wonderful time seeing a number of friends from our TsingHua days. The New Year Eve's party is truly an international gathering, people you see on the photo below are from Canada, England, Japan, and the US (Boston, Detroit, Irvine)

Edward is now a 9th grader at Los Alamitos High School (LAHS). As some of you know and we are learning that high school is a complete new game. There are no core teachers, just six periods a day. His day starts at the band room with his Bass Trombone, same as the school year 2005-2006 at McAuliffe Middle School. The McAuliffe/Oak Jazz Band had a great Jazz year with The Mr. Wackerman.

This year, the LAHS Jazz Band's concert/festival schedules are

Date Festival Note
December 20 Winter Concert
February 12 Disneyland photos
March 10 34th class notes at LAHS in concert with Big Phat Band
March 17 Irvine Jazz photos
March 24 Fullerton College Jazz photos
April 26 - 29 Reno Jazz photos
May 12 San Clemente photos
May 19 Brea-Olinda
June 10 Band Banquet
June 12 Spring Concert

n Fall, Edward's sixth period is with LAHS Cross Country, which is really his favorite time of the day. They participated in a number of cross country meets, such as

FairViewPark

Edward is still actively involved in Boy Scout Troop 658. During the summer 2005 he went to Summer camp at Cherry valley of Catalina Island. In June 2006, he took Trailblazers National Youth Leadership Training course at Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley. In August his troop went to Camp Chawanakee at Shaver Lake, CA. He received Star rank in Troop658's Court of Honor in February 2006 and Life in February 2007.

During the year 2006 Yueping had a lot of business trips and Feng is also very busy at work. Due to Edward's full time table, we did not manage to have any vacation during Edward's summer break. Thus next summer, we are planning a number of trips to East coast, China, and Alaska.

Edward

Han Han at Maui, June 2000 Edward is a sophomore at Los Alamitos High School. Prior to high school, he attended McGaugh elementary school at Seal Beach and McAuliffe Middle School at Los Alamitos.

Edward is a very happy child and loves animals. Like most boys, his favorite reward is the computer time. He can play games on the computer for hours if he is not asked to logoff.

On the sports side, he played a couple of years of baseball at Seal Beach Pony Baseball and more soccer with AYSO Region 159. It seems like that soccer is more of his game than baseball. For 2001 season, he was at U10 division with the team Renegades, he played all positions. In 2002, he played both regular season with the team Shadows and Thanksgiving Tournament. For 2003, he is at U12 division with team Swarm. For 2004, his BU12 team Breakaways won BU12 Tournament Championship. He also played Spring soccer. For 2005, he is at U14 division, which is very different from the younger divisions. There were only 7 teams, thus one team would have a chance to rest each week. Most U14 teams do not even have a team names or banners. Edward's team had the red/black uniform, so it was just called Team Red.

At high school, he is mainly doing cross country running.

On the music side, he played trumpet, Baritone, Tuba, and Trombone in the school bands, is currently playing Bass Trombone at high school Jazz band. In his 5th grade, Edward was a Samurai in a school play Mikado.

Edward celebrated his 11th Birthday at the 1984 Olympic Archery Venue, El Dorado Park, Long Beach. He also enjoyed his friend's Birthday party at RockGym.
