All About Me
All About Me My name is Justine Palmer, and I was born with spina bifida. I was also born with hydrocephalus (a.k.a. water-on-the-brain), severe kyphosis (outward curvature of the spine), neurogenic bladder, and a dislocated hip. But, in spite of all of that, I enjoy life to its fullest! My mom says I'm one spunky little girl!
I am 5 years old and will be starting kindergarten this fall. I am very excited because I have gone to preschool for the last two years and just love school!! I have a wheelchair that I use to get around, so I get to ride a special school bus that lifts me up right in my wheelchair!!
My favorite color is green, my favorite food is peanut butter & butter sandwiches, and my favorite thing to do is play with my little brother, Grant, who is 9 months old, and my older brother, Kevin, who is 8 years old. My other favorite thing to do is play with my Barbies. And my absolute favorite cartoon is the Rugrats!
In no way, do I let my being paralyzed from the waist down, slow me down! When I'm not in my wheelchair I crawl around on my elbows or scoot on my bottom. Actually, when I'm at home, I prefer to be out of my chair so I can reach my toys better. I'm just like any other 5 year old little girl, I just happen to get around differently!!
