My name is Kimberly Lynn Dickey. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida
on April 29, 1966 to Dale Harold and Dolores Jean Letzring. I have
two brothers, Christopher Scott and Travis Lee, four half-brothers,
Scott Dale, Jason Derrick, Shane Ryan, and Tyler, one step-sister,
Kimberly Anne, and one step-brother, Ryan.

I graduated from Tarpon Springs Senior High School in 1984. While in high
school, I played clarinet in the Fighting Spongers Marching Band. It
was while I was in high school that I met Russell. We attended rival high
schools but went to the same church. We started dating in 1981 and were
married May 28, 1988. Russell enlisted in the Navy and spent our first
anniversary in boot camp.

Our first son, Timothy Ryan, was born at Pensacola Naval Air Station
Hospital in Pensacola, Florida on March 21, 1990. That was our first
duty station. Our second son, Kasey Thomas, was also born in Pensacola,
on June 29, 1992.

Our next duty station was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where our third
child was conceived. That was a big surprise to us because we were not
planning to have any more children. I had gone in to have my tubes
tied. They did blood work and told me to come back the next day for the
surgery. That night I got a call from the clinic. They told me they
couldn't do the procedure because I was pregnant! I had no idea. I called
Russell on the ship to tell him because he was on duty. He literally
fell over in his chair!! Well, we were transferred to Norfolk, Virginia
when I was seven months pregnant. Our daughter, Carolyn Jean, was born
at Sentara Bayside Hospital on November 5, 1993. That also happens
to be her Grandma Dickey's birthday so we joke with Carolyn and tell her
that we got her for Grandma's birthday present. Carolyn was named after
a wonderfully special person, Russ' Grandmama, Carolyn Elizabeth Cruz.
Grandmama passed away July 15, 1996. We were home on leave at the time
and it was heartbreaking. Russell tried to revive her by performing
CPR, but was unable to. She will always live on through Carolyn Jean though.

We have been in Virginia since August 1993. We now live in Hampton,
Virginia and will probably be here until Russell retires from the Navy
in 2009.

I am now working as Attendance Officer at Kecoughtan High School which is a challenge in its self. I am also active with the band as Band Booster treasurer and I Vice president for the Corral Boaster.

In the past two years I have lost two of my loved ones, my brother Chris
passed away May 22, 2005 and my father Dale passed away October 22, 2007.
May you both rest in well in Heaven and you will always be loved!
