This table outlines the main differences between the 2 tams. For more data on Tam Angels, go to Tam angel Info.
Catagory | Tamagotchi | Tamagotchi Angel |
Apperance | There are many colors. | The colors look kind of pearl-like, unlike Tamagotchi. There are one pair of wings on the side of the LCD screen. The words 'Tamagotchi Angel' are written across the top. |
Icons | food, lights, play, medicine, flush, meter, discipline, attention | better arranged: meter, food, play, flush, praise, medicine, lights, attention. The different icons are shown here at the top in the same order respectively. |
Meter | has weight | has no weight; instead it shows 'Angel Power', or AP. |
Food | 1 meal fills 1 hungry heart and 1b.(the weight); 1 snack fills 1 happy heart and increases 2b. | Same goes with the meal. For happiness, 1 snack does not fill happy hearts but increases the angel power. |
Play | You have 5 chances to guess: 3 or above correct guesses will result in 1 filled happy heart. The game totally depends on luck. One game decreases 1b. | You have 5 chances to help the angel jump over a star. It is a timing game and does not depend on luck. Playing a game would not affect the angel power. |
Flush | 1 flush cleans all poops onscreen. A tam dunks every 3 hours. | works the same except the angel's poop sparkles. (Go figure.) Angels always poop right after they pray, and therefore dunk less than a tam. |
Discipline (or praise, in the angel's case) |
|
|
Medicine | give the tam medicine when it gets sick; number of shots can vary. Tam usually gets sick once before they change. | Tam Angels get sick only when you turn out the lights during daytime. |
Lights | turns out the light when it sleeps. Turning out the lights while it's awake has no effect on the tam. | works the same, except angels get sick when you turn out the lights during daytime. (as mentioned above) |
Attention | Calls for you when it's hungry, or when all its hearts are empty | Calls for you when it's praying, or when its hearts are empty |
Touch Screen Feature | no touch screen feature | has a touch screen. Used when a bat comes to steal away the chocolate, or when the angel takes a walk--when the screen is suddenly empty. Even if you don't call it back, it will reappear later, though you would miss its "called back" animation. |
Growth rate |
|
The growth rate is much faster.
|
Life cycle | Tams hatch from an egg, turn into an angel when they die, or fly to their home planet in an UFO. | Angels 'beam' from the UFO, and since they cannot die because they are already dead, they either fly back to angel city, or are pulled into the underworld. |
"Farewell" Animation | When a tam leaves, the screen simply flashes between the tam and the UFO/grave. | If it is a "natural" death and not by neglect, angel tams have a farewell animation of some kind. At this screen, most tams will usually look sad or are in tears. Some will have special moves. In their farewell poses, angel tams will not leave for "Angel city" unless you press B. |
And that's about it.
