I think camp is exciting and it is nice to be around kids that have the same limitations, and I don't have to feel like an outsider. In school I feel like an outsider because I can't do all the things that other kids can.

I've tried to send Tammy to camps since she was eight years old. Other camps won't even consider taking her because her medical problems create too much responsiblility. Tammy asked me "Mama, why camp they have a camp just for us?". She was happy to hear that she can come to Camp Braveheart as long as she wants to.

Camp Braveheart gave my nine year old son one of the greatest experiences of his life. A weekend full of adventure and excitement with children who have medical histories like his own. For the first time in his life he was not "the child with the heart problem". He was just like everyone else. He came home from Camp Braveheart with a new sense of belonging, a renewed self confidence and a group of friends he'll always cherish.

I thoroughly enjoyed going to Camp Braveheart and seeing these kids in a non-medical environment. I would like all our cardiologist to have the opportunity to attend this camp and see these kids in a normal environment of play and competition. Its truly amazing and rewarding to see this perspective of the results of our hard work.
