  • Competing for the Future, by Gary Hamel and C.K. Prahalad (Harvard Business School Press, 1994). The single most important business book of the 90s. Hamel and Prahalad advance a strategic architecture which helps companies create the future by reinventing industries.

  • Strategy Pure and Simple: How Winning CEOs Outthink Their Competition, by Michel Robert. (McGraw Hill, Inc., 1993) This book provides an excellent foundation for the concept and process of strategic visioning.

  • The Discipline of Market Leaders -- Choose Your Customers, Narrow Your Focus, Dominate Your Market, by Michael Treacy and Fred Wiersema (Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, 1995).

  • The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook, by Peter Senge, et al (Doubleday, 1994). Senge's practical guide to helping companies create a learning organization.

  • The Age of Paradox, by Charles Handy, (Harvard Business School Press, 1994). Discusses how to manage the unintended consequences of change -- the paradoxes of modern times.

  • The Intelligent Enterprise, by James Brian Quinn (Free Press, 1992).

  • The Age of the Network -- Organizing Principles for the 21st Century, by Jessica Lipnack and Jeffrey Stamps (Oliver Wight Publications, Inc., 1994).

  • Reengineering the Corporation, by Michael Hammer and James Champy (Harper Business, 1993),
