To whom it may concern:
I would like to recommend Donald Pearston as a candidate
for teaching in an English as a Second Language or TESOL program. I have
had the opportunite to observe Don during the time he was in my TESL 562
class in the winter quarter of 1998 and in my TESL 563 class on the spring
quarter 1998. Both classes deal with methods of teaching second langrages
but each class dealt with different levels of acquisition and had diferent
mahor projects.
Don had excellent academic work in the TESL 562 class. His major paper was will done and he made an exceptionally good presentation to the whole class at the end of the quarter. This project required him to produce an organized unit of instruction for an identified group of students at a beginning level of acquisition.
In addition to planning, Don had the
opportunity in the class to practise a variety of second language methods,
strategies, techniques and activities that are appropriate for students
from production through speech emergence levels of acquisition.
