KEITH ABBOTT'S RACING CAREER
Keith started racing Street Stocks in 1976 at Shangri-La Speedway in Owego, NY. He and his brother, Kirk, shared a car owned by Bill Zacharias. Keith then built his own Street Stock.
In 1981, he started racing Go-Karts, which he ran in New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and West Virgina. He won five championships in his Go-Kart career. At one point, he raced the same car in two classes and won the championship for both classes. During this time, he raced against Scott Pruitt.
Keith then took a break while he built the Mini Sprint and became a father. He started racing in the Mini Sprint in 1986, and his daughter fell in love with racing, too. He raced the Mini Sprint mostly in Geneva, finishing second in points one season, but also ran some races in Brewerton and Devil's Bowl.
IN 1990, he was proud to be invited by George Light to drive the Midget George and his son Steve had built. The Midget races took him up and down the East Coast, from Oswego to Daytona. During this time he had the opportunity to race against names like Ken Schrader and Jeff Gordon.
In 1993, Keith found himself biulding a Limited SuperModified to race at Oswego Speedway, His favorite track of all. He started the first season sbout halfway through the year in 1994 and after ironing out some bugs, began to get the feel for the car and the track. In 1995 season, he finished 5th in points, having led the points for part of the season. He also had two heat wins during this time. The 1996 season wasn't as kind. Racing accidents took their toll with the car being totaled the next to the last race of the season. Fortunately, Keith was unharmed, and still determined to race something somewhere. What can you say, it's in his blood!!
The 1997 season found him racing a Sportsman Modified at Tioga Speedway in Owego, NY, where he raced with the rest of his family! In 1998 he finished 7th in points, even though the motor wasn't ready to start the season and he missed the first couple of races. this year find Keith as determined as ever, always the champion at heart. His goal is to finish in the top 5 in points, but if skill and determination mean anything, we think he'll go higher than that!! I LOVE YOU, and wish all yours dreams come true.

LOVE,
ASHLEY
