Steve did a great job on his first canoe which is the traditional
Hiawatha design from Canoecraft book. Steve said that it is fast, but
could have been designed for a little more initial stability. His next project
will be a cedar strip kayak.

Builds several models from 14 feet to 17.5 feet. Ron uses redwood and
cedar strips with accent strips of basswood, walnut, and white cedar. The
14 foot model is a solo canoe.

Builds the "Wee Lassie" design which is a 11.5 foot solo canoe
weighing approximately 30 pounds. It can be built 10.5 feet in length
which decreases the weight to approximately 20 pounds.

John, who started building canoes when he lived in Solon Maine, builds
an 18.5'guide canoe using cedar strips. The design is infuenced by the
E.M. White canoes. John had the opportunity on more that one occasion to
talk shop with Gil GilPatrick author of a fine book on building strippers.
Gil also uses the E.M. White designs for his guide canoes.
