Actually I was a bit of a skeptic when he told me that my Uncle Luke told him about a website for Maripipi, and really I was surprised to see it. I stayed overnight at the residence of a Barrio Capt. whose residence is near the pantalan that was 26 yrs ago and the following year I passed by your island for a coouple of minutes because one of the passengers dropped of while I proceeded toisland of Sto Nino.     Hi, I grew up in the the small town of Leyte, Leyte (a few kilometers south of Maripipi). Just like Maripipi, my town is being abandoned by the new generation who wants to better themselves in some other places. There is no future in my town, most land are ow by folks of spanish ancestry(the remnants of the old spanish colony. This is only a small scale. In the national level, look who are in power, the rich folks, the celebreties and the business community. It is a national shame.

    I have been Maripipi so many times with the Franciscan missionary for church service and I know the place is really amazing. If somebody know Cosme German the fastest swimmer in Maripipi with his brother he is a good friend of mine. I hope they still reme ber me during our Palarong Pambansa held in Lucena City. Im so sorry and pity of the lost of DWUT where I was the founder of the Adamas Nu Omega fraternity. Regards to all my clasmates in AB-Philo year 1979. Thanks to the author of this website.     Maripipi is a beautiful place to live indeed! Hi! My name is Ramon C. Lagunzad and I was born in Macopa Leyte, Leyte. I've never been to Maripipi but I know I heard about the place, It is very close to the place where I was born and raised. I've heard much of Biliran Island which was then a distant away from Leyte,Leyte. Perhaps you had went thru my place because then Leyte, Leyte was the only way to Tacloban or Ormoc cities, or maybe you might have known my family. Who Knows?
