Born on July 29, 1921 at Hyderabad Deccan, Kazi Abdur Rasheed (r) was the eldest son (and second child) of Kazi Zainul Abedin and Sahibni Begum (alias Pasha Begum). Kazi Abdur Rasheed (r) was barely 7 years old when he lost his dear mother. A heavy responsibility lay ahead of him. Being the eldest son, he would be the one to take care of his four sisters and one brother.
His father Kazi Zainul Abedin was well aware of the difficult time faced by his young children. He wanted to bring his 6 children up in a healthy environment. With great pressure from his family at large, Kazi Zainul Abedin decided to enter into a second marriage, hoping to be able to provide his children with the love of a mother that they had lost recently. He married Zohra Begum, the daughter of his cousin and brother-in-law Kazi Ahmed Muneeruddin. This wedlock produced 4 children: Zakiya Begum, Kazi Saeeduddin Masood, Kazi Badruddin Saeed, and Kazi Mazharuddin Tariq.
Born on December 20, 1923 at Hyderabad Deccan, Muneerunnisa Begum (r) was the elder of the 2 surviving children of Syed Mohammed Hussain (died 1956) and Hafizunnisa Begum (died 1973). She has only one surviving brother - Syed Mohib Hussain - who lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada at present. None of her other siblings survived infancy or childhood.
