I'm running an Iomega parallel zip drive and my bios doesn't have the
option to boot to scsi so what i did is:

1. I used partition magic to make a very small primary partiton
on my hard drive.

2. I used a program called System Commander that lets you boot to
many different operating systems.

3. Then i copied the dos 6.22 system files to the new partition along
with the dos drivers for the zip drive and himem.sys,smartdrv.exe
and, ifshlp.sys next i wrote an autoexec.bat and config.sys
that would load the drivers and point to the zip drive.

Now when i boot my computer System Commander gives me the option to
boot into win 95 or the zip drive which has win 3.11 on it.

This is my autoexec.bat

C:\SMARTDRV.EXE
@ECHO OFF
PROMPT $p$g
c:\mouse\mouse
SET TEMP=g:\junk
@SET SCSI_DRIVER = C:\IOMEGA
@SET SCSI_UTILITY = C:\IOMEGA
PATH=G:\dos;\WINDOWS
g:\dos\MSCDEX.EXE /D:IDECD000
g:\windows\win :

config.sys

DEVICE=C:\HIMEM.SYS
BUFFERS=40
FILES=30
LASTDRIVE=z
DEVICE = C:\IOMEGA\ASPIPPM1.SYS FILE=NIBBLE.ILM SPEED=10 Quiet
DEVICE = C:\IOMEGA\ASPIPPM2.SYS FILE=NIBBLE2.ILM SPEED=10 Quiet
DEVICE = C:\IOMEGA\ASPIIDE.SYS Scan Info Quiet
DEVICE = C:\IOMEGA\ASPIATAP.SYS Scan Info Quiet

The drive named c:\ is now the new partition which is about 10 meg
in size it could be made smaller depending on the size you need to
hold the drivers for your zip drive.

I'm now working on a boot floppy to take the place of drive c:\
so that i can run it from any computer without setting up a new
partition. So far i have one that works but it has a few bugs
that i need to work out.

I dont see any problem running any dos bassed operating systems
this way or any type of zip drive as long as you have the drivers
you need for it.

I hope this helps you or gives some good ideas, let me know if you find
a better way.
