Books & Periodicals:

The U.S. BOOK SECTION contains books and periodicals for the U.S. and individual states. Not all states are represented. Periodicals are usually found in file boxes within the state's group. These periodicals often contain a query column from people researching in tha particular area. The periodicals vary in age and have been indexed. REFERENCE BOOKS for the United States and Foreign countries help you to know where to write, who to write to and how to research. There are dictionaries and books for translating foreign languages to English available. There are some State Census books and many other miscellaneous books available. The GENEALOGICAL HELPER is a magazine with large sections of queries from genealogists looking to team efforts with others. The PEDIGREE INDEX is a compilation of names (in alphabetical order) extracted from sheets submitted by local patrons. These are on cards in the wooden card file and refer you to pedigree sheets kept in the blue binders.

Wooden Card File:

The SURNAME drawers in the wooden card file contain miscellaneous information for specific surnames FOUND HERE IN OUR LIBRARY. These records have been extracted from a variety of sources, including periodicals and books. Listed in alphabetical order they are quick to browse. The call numbers in the left top corner will tell you where they can be found in our library.
