I bought a female boerboel nearly 6 months ago as a pet and protector. I have been taking her for lessons and the instructor advised me to let her have 1 litter of pups as she is really intelligent and beautiful. We bought her from a breeder in the Oran e Free State who said she was over 80% pure bred. Ek het 'n passie vir alle diere behalwe katte, maar is eintlik 'n bullterrier man. Hulle het egter my 1 jaar oue bullterrier teef so twee maande terug in die Strand gesteel. Sy was redelik klein en oormatig vriendelik met almal, wat ongewoon is want sy wa geregistreerd van die Piketberg bloedlyn (wat baie agteruitgaan as jy my vra). Sy was ook liewer vir baklei (deur die heining) met honde as vir haar huismense . Dit was my vierde Bullterrier wat ek gehad het. Ek het nog een varkhond oor - 'n mooi groot r un met 'n goeie geaardheid. My 16 maande oue dogtertjie ry op sy rug en byt hom aan die ore. Dis na die 4de varkhond se verlies dat ek en my vrou besluit het om iets anders te probeer. Die hartseer elke keer was net te veel vir haar. Sy het nie honde geken voor ons getroud was nie, en die varkhonde se 'dom' intelligensie - beskermende houding en oeie geaardheid vir sy huismense het haar baie lief gemaak vir die ras. Enige een wat varkhonde ken, weet watter liefdevolle honde hulle met hulle huismense is, alhoewel nie altyd so vriendelik teenoor ander mense of diere nie. Hulle is ook uitstekende be kermers. Die 'Boerboel' het baie van die eienskappe van 'n bullterrier, alhowel dalk minder hardegat en moordlustig. Dit is wat my na die ras as 'n alternatief laat kyk het. Ons het 'n Boerboel gekry wat van 'n plaas naby Grabou af kom. Sy is 90% Boerboel en 10 - 5% BullMastiff. Haar oupa of ouma was 'n Bull Mastiff. 90% Boerboel was genoeg rede vir my om na jou 'site' te kom kyk vir inligting. Dit is een van die min plekke (enigste) wat ek kon kry wat genoeg oor die Borboel se, aangesien die ras nog nie internasionaal erken word nie. (nie waarvan ek weet ten minste nie). Ons het haar nou twee weke en is voorlopig baie tevrede. Sy is nou 7 weke, en slaap klaar buite saam met die varkie, alhoewel hulle toegelaat word om in en uit die huis te gaan soos dit hulle pas, as ons daar is. Sy speel baie met hom(3 + 1/2 jaar oud) en dit lyk asof hulle sal klaarkom. Sy goeie temperament help seker baie. Hy's ongelooflik geduldig. Sy is redelik skoon vir so 'n jong hond en miskien omdat sy buite slaap doen sy amper al haar besigheid klaar buite en kom dan weer in. Ek weet nie of sy by om aangesteek het, en of dit maar 'n Boerboel kenmerk is nie, maar sy is buite haarself van blydskap as ons in die middae by die huis kom. As die kombinasie werk, sal ek moontlik na 10 jaar of wat ook al, weer kyk na 'n soortgelyke kombinasie. Dan sal ek 'n geregistreerde teef kry, saam met nog 'n vark reun. Ek dink nie dit gaan andersom werk nie. Dankie vir die site en die inligting [Vraag : Sy het groot pote en 'n groot beenstruktuur, maar was ietwat kleiner as die res van die werpsel. Haar ribbekas steek nie uit nie, maar kan duidelik gevoel word as jy oor haar streel. Haar vel is ook baie los. Dit is interessant dat jou vertaling van die Amerikaanse Boerboelvereniging se eienskappe vir 'n aanvaarbare boerboel ietwat verskil. Hulle noem dat alhoewel 'n 'wit' boerboel nie die ideaal is nie, so 'n hond wel vir hulle aanvaarbaar is. Hoekom geld die elfde nie in SA nie? Ek het as maat vir my kinders 'n tan en wit boerboel teef gekoop. Al haar karaktereienskappe is tipies boerboel, behalwe dat haar kleur nie 'reg' is nie.
