Runaway Me: A Survivor's Story -
We've only seen and read one book specifically about being a runaway teen.  Evan Karl Cutler's out-of-print "Runaway Me: A Survivor's Story" is an autobiographical account of being a teen runaway that tells the very real trials that face kids on the street. He does not glamorize the life he lived, nor does he use scare tactics. He tells it like it was.  Some copies may be available through Amazon.com.  Because it is now so hard to find, we may include information from the book here in the future.  You may be able to click here and find a public library near you where you can find and read a copy of this VERY GOOD book.  Or, you may be able to get a copy through the publisher:  A Blooming Press Company, 749 S. Lemay, Suite A3-223, Ft. Collins, CO 80524-3900, (800)210-8336,
(303)224-1726 fax .

Running Away
Running away is a very serious problem. According to the National Runaway Switchboard, an organization that takes calls and helps kids who have run away or are thinking of running away, one in seven kids between the ages of 10 and 18 will run away. And there are 1.3 million runaway and homeless kids living on the streets in the United States. As many as 100,000 of these runaway and homeless kids in the United States are preteens.  This information is proided by KidsHealth.org.
