2 i. Mercy² Smith was born in Chatham, MA 2/28/1744. Mercy died 7/20/1805 in Nova Scotia, Canada, at 61 years of age. Her body was interred in Cape Negro, Nova Scotia, Canada. She married Benjamin Bearse III in Chatham, MA, 11/8/1764. Benjamin was born 1742. He was the son of Benjamin Bearse Jr. and Elizabeth Godfrey.
