Shams Ed-Deen Abdul-Hameed Shapsough
Routes:
Descendant of a pure Dynasty, well known
with loyalty to Islam, and obtaining
knowledge; as his grand father Barakat
was graduated from Istanbul Islamic
Colleges in the 19th century, while his
uncle Abdul-Majeed was graduated from Al-Azhar
Al-Shareef in Egypt the early years of
the 20th century. His roots go to a
family dedicated to Jihad for raising the
word of Allah, and to protect religion.
They gave all they have for what they
believed in.
Born
in: Na’ur/ Jordan in 1915,
Marital
status: Was married and had 3
sons and 4 daughters.
Last
Residence: Na’ur/ Jordan.
Work
history:
Joined
Trans Jordan Forces in 1931, and served
till he retired in 1948. Through this
period he was promoted several times
starting from a soldier till he became a
Captain (the highest rank given for non-English
officers). During this period he was
promoted twice out of periods for
outstanding performances. His final
evaluation in retirement documents was
VERY GOOD. From the positions he
occupied, he could wisely invest the
advantages to serve and protect Islam and
Arabs, and to protect some Arab interests.
That was important, in particular at that
critical stage of constructing the Jordan
State, and the history of Palestinians'
strugle for freedom.
After
retirement he occupied several positions
in private sector and his tribal
institutions.
In
1960 he joined Public Security
Directorate having the same rank (Captain)
and occupied the following positions:
- Head
Assistant of Irbid Police
Department.

of 1st Security Battalion.

- Commander
of Security Platoons.
|
- Head
Assistant for Salt Police
Department.
|
- Commander
of Aqaba Port Security
Force.
|
- Director
of Police Welfare
Department.
|
- Director
of Amman International
Airport Security Force.
|
- Director
of Reform and
Rehabilitation Center.
|
After
retirement from PSD, he transferred to
another Public Service position to serve
Allah, his country, the crown and his
people, so he became:
- Director
of Circassian Charity
Society in Zarqa City,
for two cycles (1973-1978).

- Director
of Circassian Charity
Society in Na’ur, for
the years 1980-1983.
|
- A
member of Tribal Council
of Circassians and
Chechens in Jordan
including being the head
assistant of the council.
|
Every
one knew him, could touch easily that he
had courageous attitudes for the sake of
rightfulness, and he was audacious
against oppression, generous, freehanded,
open minded, benevolent, and kind person.
He always proved to be a man of honorable
stances. He only knew truthfulness in
what he says, trustworthy in what he
obtains, loyalty to Allah and Islam, to
the nation, and to the Monarchy. He
assumed responsibility in his career, and
in this he proved to be a powerful
leader, just, chaste, virtuous, strong-willed,
devoted, active, modest, simple, humane,
tolerant, patient, forbearing, constant,
sincere, ascetic, peaceful, and self-possessed.
His
family knew him through his rich
experience, great wisdom, and he was
their example and doctrine maker in all
aspects of life. Another side of him
represented the compassionate father, the
closest friend, the prudent mentor, the
spring of love and the source of
affection, the master of the highest
human ethics, and the giving sapient, who
is rich of knowledge and acquaintance.
Achievements:
in his career he could achieve:
- The
establishment of SECURITY
BRIGADES which did it’s
national, honorable
mission very well.

- The
establishment of Aqaba
Port Guard Force,
directing the
construction of all it’s
premises, and
organizational components.
|
- Securing
Amman International
Airport in an extremely
critical period upon the
internal security
disturbance in the early
1970s of the Jordan’s
history, in this context
he could make the wise
decisions to guarantee
the security and safety
of Jordan’s main
airport, and activate the
flights.
|
- He
directed the development
of The Central Prison of
Amman from a classic
penal center into a
modern civilized “Correction
and Vocational
Rehabilitation Center”,
which was a pioneering
step throughout the
region.
|
Hobbies:
He practiced in his rich active
life the following hobbies:
In
sports field:
- Various
types of swimming.
|
- Various
types of sharp shooting
and marksmanship.
|
- Horseback
riding and polo sport.
|
In
this he was seeking the application of
what prophet Mohammed instructed us as
Muslims: “make your descendants know
how to swim, to cast and to ride horses”.
In
culture field:
- Scientific
and literature Book reading, and
he could provide his descendant a
home library rich of various
types of books in Arabic, and of
translated best sellers.
- Political
and military deep analyses, and
could even predict many events,
and conclude things that proved
later to be real facts on ground.
- He
used to pursue Islamic lectures
and programs of Neda'Al-Islam
radio, and the discussion of
postgraduate thesis works on
Sharia, through which he could
upgrade and update his treasure
of knowledge in Islam, life and
wisdom
In music
field: He used to play on harmonica March
songs when being alone.
He passed
away in 1990 aging 75 years, full of caring,
giving and love.
