ERIC Clearinghouse on Reading, English, and Communications - I will be taking a copy of this link to Mikaela's principle, because I really would like to hear the school district's logic behind choosing D'Nealian over the more familiar and easier to comprehend vertical manuscript.  If your children are not school age yet, find out NOW what your school district is teaching so you have time to battle a change from D'Nealian to vertical manuscript!  Okay, off my soapbox now! 

The Cadbury Yowie website - This will give you a quick explanation of Yowies

Yowie Land - This is someone's personal website - a Yowie collector and they have managed to get photos of just about every Yowie "playmate" on their site.  Graphics intensive, but at least you can look at photos if you can't collect the Yowies!

Ed's Austrian CookBook - One of our favorite places to eat in Canberra, Australia, was an Austrian restaurant.  Can't seem to find one around here in Norfolk, and we didn't have a change to go to the restaurant the few days we spent in Canberra before Christmas.  So when we returned and I was still on leave for a week, I searched the web and came up with this site.  It has great recipes, gives great instruction, and the results, for even me cooking them, were great!

Soon to be USS Winston S. Churchill DDG-81 - My new command.  I will be a plankowner on the Navy's newest Arleigh Burke class AEGIS guided missile destroyer.  She is currently under construction in Bath, ME and will be homeported in Norfolk, VA

Chuck Lorre Productions - Check out this producer's website.  He produces Dharma & Greg, and this web site contains all the "Vanity Cards" he has written that are flashed on the screen for a whole 2 seconds after the shows credits.  Fun reading!

Dialectizer - Go to this site, type in any web page address, and be prepared to laugh!

Movie Mistakes - For any trivia buffs out there, you can spend hours looking up all those weird little "mistakes" that weren't cut from movies before they made it to the screen.

The Wiggles - The Wiggles were formally "The Cockroaches", a great "rock" band in Australia.  They now are one of the best children's groups around, anywhere, in the world!  They have really upbeat, catchy tunes, kids love them, and for that matter, I catch myself singing their songs around the house.  All their songs are quite "danceable" as well, which is why kids like them so much.  This is Mikaela's favorite group, and one I don't mind listening to for hours on end.  Any parent out there who wants to throw some other children's video through the window before they have to listen to it one more time, I suggest you RUN to the nearest store and purchase a video or CD from this group.  I guarantee you won't regret it!  (Actually, I think you can only buy their items online at this time.  Go to their website and it will point the way to buying Wiggles merchandise in the US.)

Making Friends - My all time favorite place to get great craft ideas for Mikaela.  This place has some great stuff, lots of "printable" things, and is a must for rainy "gotta stay inside" days!

Urban Legends - Find out where all those myths got their start.  Most have been around LONG before any of us were receiving them by email!  Before you pass on that "warning" email someone sent you, look here first!

Saturn Paper Craft - Okay, this site is in Japanese, but well worth it if you have kids who like cars.  Lots of cars to print, cut and fold into Saturn vehicles.  Plus a park, gas station, lots of other things.  Bumble your way around, you may not be able to read Japanese, but you can find everything by following the pictures!
