Introduction
We have been researching our family history since the summer of 1999. Most of the information on these pages is about people who are now deceased. Please ask for more details about the rest of our family lines by e-mail.

Primary families making up this lineage are the Adams and Zuendel families.

A brief history:

The Adams line begins with Alexander Adams immigrating to Ontario from England sometime before 18xx. He becomes the station master at the Woodville, Ontario station, marries and raises a family.

At the same time, the Zuendel family immigrates to Huron County, Michigan. There is a period of time when the Zuendel family returns to Germany, but eventually they return to Verona to continue a farming life.

Alexander's son Daniel Webster Adams immigrates to Huron County, Michigan and the two families are joined.

Significant geographical regions:

Huron County, Michigan is located in the northern tip of the Michigan "Thumb" and is bordered by Tuscola and Sanilac Counties to the south and Lake Huron to the north and east.

In 1881, a terrific fire with flames over 100 feet high swept through most of Huron County. It was because of this fire that the Red Cross, headed by Claire Barton, provided the first Emergency Aid project in the United States.

Wurttemberg, Germany, historic region of Germany, bounded by Bavaria, Bodensee (Lake Constance), which separated the area from Switzerland, and Baden. The capital was Stuttgart.

The area became Protestant during the 16th century and was ravaged during the Thirty Year's War, but it began to develop as a manufacturing center and as a textile center by the late 17th century.

The dukes of Wurrtemberg were raised to the rank of electors in 1803 and of kings in 1806. Wurremberg was allied with Austria against Prussia in 1866, during the Seven Week's War, but it joined the Prussian-dominated North German Confederation in 1867. The kingdom supported Prussia against France in 1870 and in 1871 became part of the new German Empire.
