- Ancestry.com offers over 270 million names to search. Millions of their records can be searched for free listed under their Featured Databases.
- The Ancestry World Tree has millions of records uploaded by users. They are all searchable for free.
- A Barrel of Genealogy Links lives up to its' name with hundreds of links to help your genealogy research.
- Cyndi's List has a comprehensive list of over 42,000 genealogy related links, and more are added each week.
- Family Search is a free site by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It offers over 360 million vital records that can all be accessed for free.
- Genealogy.com offers 325 million names in various sources. It is hosted by Family Treemaker and like other sites, require a fee for access to all of their records, but can view some for free.
- Genealogy for All offers a surname search.
- The Genealogy Home Page offers thousands of links to various resources on the internet.
- Genealogy Today offers news, events, and other happenings in the genealogy world.
- Genealogy's Most Wanted offers information on the most requested surnames.
- Gendex is a genealogical index of over 3.8 million freely searchable records.
- Hall of Names gives a free brief history of your surname, and offers to sell you the full printed history.
- Janyce's Root Diggin' Dept. offers thousands of links to various genealogy resources.
- Kindred Konnections offers over 100 million names to search-subscription required for full access to all records.
- Rootsweb offers millions of records, and is the oldest online genealogy resource.
