Old friends are dear,
and still the best.
They Last much longer
than the rest!
They knew you in the yestyerday
of long ago and far away.
When all the dreams
were bright and clear,
and nought in all the world's to fear.
The dance of life had scarce begun,
the sweetest songs yet to be sung.
Life and love
bewitched and beckonded.
Ah yes: we were so very young!
I hear the echos
and I sigh;
They were so young:
and so was I!

I had the pleasure of knowing Jean Merrick
She wrote me a Book of poems to treasure
I promised her that one day I would get one of her poems published
I truly hope this honours my promise.
Special thanks to her son
Don Merrick for introducing this Wonderful Lady to me
