When I left Arkansas I never expected to return. Funny how things work out! By the early 90’s I was definitely ready to leave southern California. Too noisy, too much traffic, too much crime, too expensive! Rachel and I moved to Arkansas in 1993 and have enjoyed retirement on Beaver Lake in the extreme northwest corner of the state; the heart of the Ozarks. Besides watercolors, keyboard, guitar, golf, sailing, hiking, skiing, canoeing, and kayaking, I like to soak in the Jacuzzi with a glass of wine. My sailboat is a Catalina 22 and is located just a short walk down at the lake. I recently bought an old jeep to putter around with since I was "running out of things to do". I have three children: David, Thomas, and Lisa; all on the west coast. They have a total of five sons (basketball anyone?). Rachel has three grandsons and one granddaughter so we have a total of nine grandchildren. Besides the lake, the four seasons, and the beautiful scenery, the people here are warm and friendly. We feel like we’re "on vacation" every day.
