Square lashing is used to join two sticks together at right angles.  You can make coat hangers, towel racks, and other items.

Diagonal lashing is used to make racks and braces.

Round or sheer lashing is used to join two parallel sticks.  It is used to make pot hooks and to attach sticks to trees.

Continuous lashing is used to make table tops and seats.
