Heartstrings Tatting Guild recently held its first public meeting of the year. The meeting was held at the Lincoln County Public Library in Brookhaven on Thursday, February 10th. Heartstrings got its start in September 1999, when its four founders decided to make an effort to meet with other tatters, teach and in general promote tatting in the area. Tatting is a very old and elegant form of lace making, and although the art has seen days when it was more widely practiced, it is not a dying or lost art. More and more people are learning to tat every day, thanks in great part to the enthusiasm and love that people feel for this gentle art. Meet our founders:
