On the mend January 30, 2001 |
Ok so my journal is getting boring these days. But hey, this one has lots of pictures! My boys are on the mend finally. Collin still has a pretty bad cough, but he has been sleeping and getting well. He just sleeps wherever he is, even in his daddy's lap. Boy he looks big in that picture! I am so thankful to have them getting well again. I don't like it when they are sick. But things are looking up. My week has been so great so far. The first thing to happen was me doing our taxes. We are getting so much more back than I expected. It is all going into savings, and it is enough so that I don't have to worry about where our rent money will come from this summer. Matt's VA money runs out in May and this has been a MAJOR concern of mine since I was pregnant with Collin!! Sheesh. No need to worry after all. The second thing was that Michelle(the friend I just wrote about last time) called me to tell me she is FINALLY pregnant!! She has been trying for 3 years(at least). I am beyond thrilled for her and Chris. She has had pgcy troubles in the past though, so if you could just pray that things go well this time around, I know she would appreciate it. Last night was the big boys' first ice skating lesson. It was so neat. Look at them, I don't think I can even STAND in those things, and they act like it is no big deal! They got out there and Dillon just kind of stood there. In the picture of Dillon the person who has fallen is Matthew. Matthew just got out there and skated around like he had been on skates his whole life. He fell a couple of times and it really looked like it hurt. He cried a couple times, but I think I would have too!! He LOVED it. Afterwards they have open skate and it is cheap for students and their parents. So we stayed and Matt helped Dillon. The helmet he was wearing was really big. We got him a new one and I think it will work much better. With Matt he was doing better. So I expect in a couple of sessions he will be doing much better. It is SO cute to see my babies out ice skating. I am thankful to be here, because they wouldn't have an opportunity like this in Klamath Falls. It is amazing how fast they pick it up. Hockey is HUGE here and there were little boys(7 or 8 years old) zipping around in their hockey uniforms, as comfortable on skates as on shoes. Anyway, it will be great for the boys. AND...ME!! In the little while we were there I met 2 moms. Both were so nice. One was especially helpful to me. She has 5 kids, all under 6 1/2. They were so cute too. Anyway, there was something about her, and I just KNEW she homeschooled, so I asked. Sure enough she does. She said she belongs to a group that meets all the time. They get together once a month for meetings, and then they have gym day once a week at the YMCA. I will be calling her. I am so excited because I have been searching for a group to get involved in. Social time for the boys. And she was so nice too. I can't believe it, I MAY end up with friends after all!! My kids should have started skating earlier ::giggle:: So that is my week so far. I really need to get going and clean. I just wanted to share the good news with everyone. Look there, in the gray sweater, that is Matthew, doesn't he look like a pro??!! :) Back Next |
