November/December
Twigs

Note:  All club meetings to be held on the Camp Cahito grounds unless otherwise specified

November 26, Monday 1:00
Let's Build a Wreath!  The San Diego Camp Fire Council has been given the opportunity by the Wild Animal Park to participate in their annual wreath decorations.  Giant wood base wreaths will be decorated by individual clubs and we've been lucky enough to get one for the Twigs!  Our theme:  Camp Fire Twigs care about our Natural Resources:  The wreath will be decorated with a scene of snow, falling snowflakes, and handprints decorated to look like reindeer (inscribed with your child's name and age).
If you have time and the inclination, please make an ink print of your child's hand in advance of the meeting (any color) on a piece of paper.  You can decorate them at home or the meeting to look like a reindeer.  We will have them laminated for protection before placement on the wreath.
As a thank you for helping the WAP, free passes will be given to each child in our club that participates for use at the Festival of Lights at the Park during the month of December.  We could make this a family event, or use your pass any time you like.  This should be a lot of fun and a great opportunity for Camp Fire to gain some local recognition!

December 1 or 2
Volunteer needed to deliver our Christmas Wreath to the Wild Animal Park.

December 5, Wednesday 2:30
Candy Sales and Sense.  Please don't miss this meeting as we will be going over the requirements, techniques, incentives and ideas for the National Sale.  We will also need to determine the amount of candy our club will be ordering (based on how much we hope to sell).  We'll set up a mock sales table with the kids and practice our pitches!  Don't forget your uniforms!    We will also be practicing our  carols for Christmas on the Prado.

December

National Candy Sale Orders due in to the San Diego Council Office at Camp Cahito.

December 8, Saturday 6:

Christmas on the Prado!  Local Camp Fire clubs will be joining together to sing carols as part of the festivities.  The program will run approximately 20 minutes, and even if your child doesn't sing, just think how adorable he/she will look standing up there!  Meet in front of the Aerospace Museum (in uniform!).

December 18, Tuesday 6:00
Christmas Ceremonial and Potluck at Camp Cahito.  This will be our first ceremonial, a time celebrating our children and acknowledging the great things they've done in our club.  We will be awarding our first patch, "I Create", and special mementos commemorating our field trips will be given.

The Camp will be a memorable spot for this event, especially in the evening.  We will have a campfire and roasted marshmallows, and a cabin to warm ourselves in.  Lots of trees and special places for the kids as well.  Please bring a wrapped gift for your child to exchange (handmade or less than $5) and plan on a group photo and a special time.  Please be sure to invite your friends and family to share this special evening.

January 5, Saturday
Annual candy sale kick-off festival at Camp Cahito.  Details to follow.
