Hello I wanted to tell you that I think your site is just beautiful. My line I can trace back to James McLeod(B:March 2,1809 in Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland). James and his brother George went to Canada in 1829. They also had a brother named David but ther is no mention of him going to Canada. James married Sarah Fisher on July 16,1839. They had several children that scattered across Canada and the US. I am the sixth generation since my ancestors left The Isle of Skye, Scotland. My Great Grandfather James mos Archiebald McLeod(better know as Archie)and my Great Grandmother Sophia Rosalie Carlson homesteaded a ranch in Oregon,that is where most of my relatives come from now. I think that we might link together back in Scotland. I have a record that James wa baptised on March 7,1809(record supplied by Jennie Stager copied from the Drainie Record) his parents were James McLeod and Margaret Strachan, witnesses for some of their other childrens baptisims were John,David,and Helen McLeod. I think your John is ma be a uncle to my James. I am not sure although, maybe you have some information on the McLeods before leaving Scotland? If you do please E-mail me with the information it would be greatly appreciated.

My grandparents (Albert Elliott and Dorothy Knechtel Elliott) always bragged about an ancestor that was born on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They claimed that the ancestor's name was Sarah MacLeod. When I was little, my family went to Ontario and found her grave. It was either in Chatam, ucknow, or Wingham Ontario.

Hello Clara. What a beautiful site that you do have. Hope you wont mind if I "snitch" one of the "roses" ha. Thought I would let you know that I have been hearing from many of the Gostick families in England and Canada. Thank Goodness they are signing the guestbook. Now is going to be the problem as to where they will fit in and my records only come up to 1870 s and 1880's in England. I am really considering putting Alan R. Gostick's complete book on the internet (what is your idea on that). I was really hoping that Misha Gostick in Canady would get her Gostick website set up, but all of a sudden, she is going to be a "little Mother" and now she has to wait for awhile before starting her Gostick website.
