Arkansas Tales
Arkansas is a state rich in stories, legends and tales that have been passed down from one generation to the next. Some of them have been passed by word of mouth, with virtually no documentation. Others have been stories that elders have told the children at their knees – either on front porches on hot, lazy summer afternoons or in front of blazing fires on cold winter nights, and eventually written down by someone in the family who cares about their heritage enough to do so. The rest have been well documented from the very beginning. One thing holds true for them all, though – they all make for some good listening!

We thought you might enjoy some of our personal favorites, so we have added them here for you pleasure. So why not fix yourself something nice to drink – a glass of tea, a cup of hot cider, or whatever your drink of choice – and soak up some of our local legends? We promise you will find yourself entertained, inspired or just downright amazed!

Just one catch, though – you might want to keep in mind that we never let the truth get in the way of a good story!
