The Outstanding Women
of Arkansas
Arkansas is a state of many natural resources which, when combined, make her the great state that she is today. One of the most important of those resources in my mind is the women of my home state, from her early pioneer days through the present time. These women vary from everyday women who have given of themselves and their hearts to make life better for their families and communities in many ways, to those who have made their contribution to the world community through the gifts of their own special talents. And some of them have come to us from other states, and become an equally important part of making our state special since they’ve lived here.

All of these women share certain characteristics, whether they are everyday homemakers or entertainers or political figures of the state or the world at large – each one of them has taken Arkansas’ values into their hearts and then found their own special way to give them to the world. And, in doing so, they have also managed to inspire us all.

Listed below are some of my personal favorites among Arkansas’ finest women. I hope you will enjoy the sharing of their stories.
