WHO I AM
I grew up in Salem, Oregon, attended McNary High School, Ricks College, and BYU. My late father, Darrell Leland Wetherbee, was born in Tenstrike, Minnesota and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. My mother, Rose Sharon Eckel was born in Jerome, Arizona and grew up in Prescott, Arizona and Medford, Oregon.
TOYOTA MR2?
If you are wondering why there is a Toyota MR2 link mixed in with all the genealogy links, it's because at one time we owned 10 MR2s. This is due to the fact that at the same time we owned the MRs, we also "owned" 11 children (seven of which were teenagers)! To simplify our lives we decided to standardize on the MR2 as the vehicle of choice for our family. Part of our collection of MR2s was the very first convertible prototype made by the only company ever authorized by Toyota to convert MR2s into convertibles. Other than the three 1986 prototypes there were only 17 MR2 convertible models produced (all were 1987 models). Also part of our collection was a rare (only 700 sold in the USA) 1989 Supercharged model. Owning and specializing in MR2s was a very fun thing for our family and we still enjoy meeting other MR2 enthusiasts. Thus, the reason for that "odd" Toyota MR2 link!
