HELEN MARIE OCHS GREENWAY March 11, 1927 - July 7, 1999

Funeral service for Helen Marie Greenway, 72, of Verden, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home Chapel. Presiding will be Rev. Audie Dorrough. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 13, 1999, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. Helen Marie Greenway was born the daughter of Phillip Ochs and Verna Morgan Ochs on March 11, 1927, at Timken, Kan. She died on Wednesday, July 7, 1999 in Fresno, California, while visiting her oldest daughter. She married Jack Lee Greenway of LaCrosse, Kan., on Nov. 29, 1943. Jack Greenway preceded Helen in death on Dec. 10, 1993, in Chickasha. Helen and family moved to Oklahoma on June 8, 1962. Mrs. Greenway went to work at Max's Drive-In in 1964. When Sonic Drive-In bought out Max's, Mrs. Greenway was hired as manager where she worked until 1989, when she retired. After working as a fast food manager for 25 years, she moved to Salem, Mo., to live with her youngest daughter. After the death of her husband in 1993, she returned to Verden to live. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one son, Jackie Lee Greenway. Survivors are daughters, Jackie Joan McClurg of Fresno, Roberta Greenway of Cement, Jerri Drennon of Verden, Brenda Hinton of Salem, Mo.; sister, Alma Scheuermann of Great Bend, Kan.; brother, Vincent Ochs of Newton, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. Note: There were two obits for Helen. The first was on Sunday, July 11, 1999, due to the mistakes the family requested a reprint of the obit as read above. The exception is that the second obit did not include her photo from the first obit.
