Paternal Line
The Lineup so far
Father's father's...
This series of images reflects my direct paternal line going back to my immigrant ancestor, John Thomas Corrin, who left the Isle of Man in the 1850's for work  building a railroad in Panama.  He then came to the United States and eventually landed in the Red River Valley of Texas in the mid 1860's.  I have yet to identify which family he came from on the Isle of Man, but I have pictures of his sisters who remained there and have a line on letters they wrote to John as well.

my parents
My dad rode onto the scene in the mid 30's, a straight shooting Texan from Hopkins Hounty.  His parents are Roy and Lora Corrin and he has two brothers, R.J. and Durrell.  After some beach clearing work in the Pacific with the US Army during the 50's, he headed to California to seek his fortune.  It was in San Francisco that he met the woman who would eventually be my mother, who he married in 1958.
Grandparents
Roy Corrin was born in Lamar County Texas on the 5th of April, 1909 to Jack and Annie Corrin.  He was a farmer and married Lora H. in 1928.  Lora was born in Hopkins County Texas on June 17th, 1905 to William and Josephine H.

Great Grandparents
Jack Corrin was born in Lamar County Texas on September 14th, 1874.  He was the son of John T. Corrin but there is still some question about who his mother was.  He was a farmer and married Annie Haddix in 1901.  Annie was born in Barbour County West Virginia on October 15th, 1885 to Allen and Carrie Phillips Haddix.

William H was born in Dooly County Georgia on September 9th, 1857 to John R. and Mary H.  William was a farmer and married Josephine Martin Bridges in 1901.  Josephine was born in Hopkins County Texas on March 10th, 1871 to William and Theresa Burkham Martin.  The Burkhams were in Texas before it was a republic.

Great Great Grandparents
John Thomas Corrin was born on the Isle of Man in the 1820's.  The dates vary depending on the source, be it census records (about 1830) or his head stone (January 8th, 1823).  He married Julia Ann Sailor Conrad in 1865 in Lamar County Texas.  Julia was born in Salem North Carolina on January 2nd, 1831.  I believe her parents were Michael and Rebecca Pfaff Sailor.
