Oops, I forgot to add that my father was Robert Clinton Hiner and his father was Walter Hiner. Really all I know about my Papaw Hiner was that he lived most of his life in Oklahoma as a farmer and died during the 40's of apparent heart failure.

Hi, all you Hiners out there! I am interested in tracing my family tree so was naturally attracted to this website. I haven't even started yet. All I have to go on is that I was told that two brothers (last name of Hiner, of course) immigrated from Ger any to the States sometime in the 19th century. I'm an Oklahoma Hiner. A German friend of mine told me the phone book is full of us over there! If you have any interesting Hiner History, feel free to email me. Best regards.

my mother is a Hiner. She was born in Yorkshire, UK but her father's family lived in Cambridge UK for many generations. She was recently contacted by a geneologist who informs her that Hiner is of Prussian origin.

I am descended from Emanuel Hiner, Philip Hiner's youngest son. Unfortunately I do not have any birth/death information to fill in on him for you. I can tell you that he married a Rosana (--) and had at least one daughter, Catarina Hiner. Catarina was orn 2/29/1788 in York Co., PA. Catarina married John Duncan. I'd be happy to fill in more information from Catarina/John to present if you are interested.

Very interesting and fun site! I was hoping to find info on the Hiners in or around Rush County, Ind. I know very little about my fathers history. Any info or relation to Arizona Hiner or Chase HIner?

Hi and thanks so much for sharing the memoirs of Joseph Hiner. I am a descendant of the Hugh "Smathers" mentioned in them who was the brother of Joseph's first wife's mother-in-law. The name was usually spelled "Smothers" later. Hugh's second wife was sup osedly a Hopkins too so I have a special interest in his sister's family as well and have been trying to document all their children. I now have all this wonderful information about Abiah Hopkins. Thanks again. Patricia

Hi there, Great page setup. Iam researching the Hiner and Graham lineage as my wife is a Graham. I notice on page 5 of your Hiner chart there are some children missing from Nancy (Hiner) Graham and James Graham's family. I would be glad to fill in some of the decendents of Nancy Hiner if you would like, if it will not tilt your tree out of whack too uch. Also I need help tracking Nancy's son Robert Ralph Graham thoroughly to current times E-mail me if I can help. Lee Lamason FAX 310-372-2251 PH 310-374-5151

I really enjoyed reading the memoirs from Joseph Hiner. Just haven't quite figured out the connection between your line and mine line of Hiners. My ggg-grandfather was a Joseph B Hiner b. 1815 and married a Ruth Jones. Mr gg-grandfather was Joseph Alexa der Hiner and he married Lucy E Rexrode. My Hiners are mainly around Highland, Bath Co in VA and Pendleton Co, WV. Keep up the good work.

I was so pleased to see this site. I'm trying to trace my Hiner relatives but not having a lot of luck. My grandfather was placed in an orphanage at a fairly young age due to the death of his mother. His father was William Leonard Hiner b1849 and his m ther was Gertrude Tippy b1859 d1887.

Hey, Cool to see a page devoted to Hiners everywhere. I know that an aunt of mine has devoted MANY years tracing our geneology way back. We too have a Joseph Hiner in our history. His name was Joseph Burner Hiner. Think they're the same?
