As some of you know, I was raised on a working cattle ranch in Northern Arizona. It provided a wonderful place for a kid to grow up and learn some valuable lessons for the rest of life!

Here are some pictures of some of the places and things interesting to me: Click on the image for a larger pictures.

A wonderful sunrise to

greet the day!

Trees in the spring on the

patio.

One of the residents! A

large Bull Snake doing his

best imitation of a peeping

tom!

One of the hazards of

ranching is the possibility of

having unexpected company

that expects to be fed!

Looking toward the house

from the Twin Tanks pasture.

Yep, it does snow in

Arizona.

The Little Painted Desert. Long, long ago, it was an inland sea. It can change color minute to minute when there are clouds in the sky. These Pictures were taken from Hyw 87 North at the Little Painted Desert Rim Drive. I'll always consider it my front yard.

These petroglyphs were made by ancient ancestors of the Hopi indians. They are located near the Homolovi State Park. They are on the top of a mesa not too far from where the main village was located. Some have theorized that it could have been a lookout. The petroglyphs could have been the scribbles of someone kind of bored. I spent many hours when I was a kid searching ant hills for beads in this area.
