SEE WHY THIS HORSE IS A TRUE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ! Venus is owned by Russ & Kim Brungraber. Venus was produced by a "Scotch N Lark" mare they themsleves selectively bred. By breeding their mare to "RR RiskyMasterPiece" their goal was to create a foal of their dreams to be Russ's personal mount. They got what they hoped for - size, conformation, temperament and COLOR to boot! The resulting foal is Venus - "Mastrs Skippa Lark". I stand behind their statement that she is a true diamond in the rough for many reasons. She was a delight to train- willing, sensible and light = FUN. She was on her first trail ride within a week. In her second week of training I took her to a local show and entered her in walk-trot class. She did not place in her class as she got lost in her class of over 30. I also was not in "show clothes" and used my roping saddle (Ha Ha)with rope reins etc. I was so proud of her how she handled situations and she showed very well. No one had a clue how many rides (or not many rides) I had on her. I started her started slow and correct with the focus on foundation work. She has been raised and handled correctly from day-one with Brungrabers. I have to keep reminding people that she is only two years old, she so much looks like a completely developed mature horse. Imagine how she will fill out and look like, when she already looks like this at age two !!! Her stud fee was $2000.00 (Breed the best to the best) and foals from this stallion have drawn the price of $9500.00 before weaned. She is priced now as a steal. We understand horses don't sell as well with winter coming, but she will not be this reasonable come spring. The Brungrabers are so involved with scuba diving that they sold all their horses except for this last baby. She has been in over 3 months training with me. Venus is being offered at this price so that she does not come home from training and thus they get attached to her and tempted to keep her. They planned and waited a long time for a foal like this and it is hard for them to not keep her. Who ever purchases her gets a great deal and a pretty, friendly people loving horse.
