The Bruchert or Brueggert family
imigrated to the United States on September 8, 1888 from Ramelow,
Germany or Grasseherzogh, Mecklenburgisthe, Landes-Regierung,
which is now East Germany. On arrival here their name spelling
was changed to Brueggert, which they went by from then on.
They settled in the Chebanse, Illinois
area where they farmed for a living. When Frederick Brueggert was
killed in a train and wagon accident, Fredericka, his wife
continued farming with the help of her sons. When she quit
farming she lived mostly with her daughter, Clara Photenhauer.
She did spend some time with her son Herman and daughter Ida
Miller, where she died. Frederick and Fredricka had a family that
consisted of Rudolph, (Ralph), Herman, Ida, Lizzie, (Louise),
Fred, Albert, Lillie, Clara, and Rosie.
Rudolph(my grandfather), Herman and Ida
were born in Germany.
