Evening Star Sampler
Soon after taking that first CQ class, I decided to use the packages I was getting from Evening Star Designs to make a sampler quilt and this is the result. Some blocks I designed myself, but most of the ideas came from their packages. I also tried to incorporate some of the classic things that most CQ's have such as a date (the 1998 was wishful thinking on my part since the quilt still needs backing and binding!), my initials, and a spider web. Click on the row to see close-ups of the blocks in that row.

The Stumpwork block also has a ribbon embroidery kit for it's center motif. The Japanese carp block is the only block I'm not completely happy with and I'm not sure why. The Damselfly center came from an online class at the Caron Threads website. My sister gave me an ESD package for Christmas so I made this block.
