Adams Family Genealogy
This page contains information on my Grandmothers mother side of the family starting with John Adams and going down to Ida Peal Adams. This information came from my Grandmother and a cousin of mine that have been working on this family. Now to the information.
John Adams was born about 1787 in Garrard County, Kentucky. He married Susannah Childress on April 26, 1804 in Garrard County, Kentucky. John his listed in the 1830 census living in Boeuff Township of Gasconade County, Missouri and his was again listed in the 1850 census. He was the administrator of his fathers estate. John and Susannah had the following children.
1.* George Washington Adams*
2. Henry Adams - Born in Garrard County, Kentucky. He died in August of 1841 in Franklin County, Missouri. Henry first married Sarah Childers on July 14, 1834 in Franklin County, Missouri. He married second Louisa Shelton on September 15, 1840 in Franklin County, Missouri.
3. Martha Adams - Born on July 13, 1822. She died on November 22, 1887 in Beemont, Gasconade County, Missouri. She was married to Riley Roberson on November 11, 1859 in Gasconade County, Missouri.
4. Moses Adams - Born about 1831.
George Washington Adams was born on Febuary 21, 1809 in Kentucky. He died on October 21, 1855 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He married Mary (Polly) Childers on March 23, 1830 in Franklin County, Missouri. He was a farmer/merchant and resided in Boeuf Township, Gasconade County, Missouri. Mary was born about 1814 in Kentucky. Her father was Captain Thomas G. Childers. Both George and Mary are buried at the Adams Georgetown Cemetery in Gasconde County, Missouri. George and Mary had the following children;
1. Louisa Susan Adams - born on September 30, 1835 in Gasconade County, Missouri. She died on April 27, 1885. She was married to Marion Reed.
2. John Thomas Adams - Born in 1836 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on June 26, 1864 in Kennesaw Mountains, Georgia. He married Mary Francis Chapman on December 29, 1859 in Gasconade County, Missouri
3. Nancy Adams - Born in 1838 in Gasconade County, Missouri. She married Clinton Caldwell on April 12, 1860 in Gasconade County, Missouri.
4. Amelia Adams - Born in 1840 in Gasconade County, Missouri. She died on Febuary 11, 1922 in Crawford County, Missouri. She married Anderson Chapman on October 01, 1863 in Gasconade County, Missouri.
5. * James Clayton Adams*
James Clayton Adams was born on January 04, 1847 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on April 05, 1921 in his son's home which is in Gasconade County, Missouri. He married on January 30, 1868 Martha J. Pratt in Gasconade County, Missouri. Martha was born on April 18, 1851 in Alabama. She died on March 31, 1906 in Gasconade County, Missouri. Cause of death was a heat attack. Both John and Martha are buried at the Adams Georgetown Cemetery in Gasconade County, Missouri. John and Martha had the following children;
1.* George Elmer Adams*
George Elmer Adams was born on November 05, 1868 in Georgetown, Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on September 02, 1938 at the Missouri Baptist Hosp., St. Louis, Missouri. He married Virginia Louella Rodgers on January 17, 1886 in Gasconade County, Missouri. Virginia was born on October 19, 1866 near Georgetown, Gasconade County, Missouri. She died on November 26, 1947 at her home in Rosebud, Gasonade County, Missouri. Both George and Virginia are buried at the Adams Georgetown Cemetery, Gasconade County, Missouri. George and Virginia had the following children;
1. Ollie Austin Adams - Born on August 08, 1887 on the Andrew Boston Farm in Gasconade County, Missouri. He died in October of 1888. Ollie is buried in Adams Georgetown Cemetery.
2. Ida Pearl Adams - Born on July 13, 1888 in Franklin County, Missouri. Died on October 24, 1924 in Rosebud, Missouri. She married Theattus V. Cahill on December 27, 1907 in Franklin County, Missouri. **This is my Grandmother's mother**.
3. Bertha Jane Adams - Born on September 04, 1890. She died in 1892.
4. Edna F. Adams - Born on September 21, 1892. She died in 1895.
5. Elmer Clayton Adams - Born on September 21, 1892 in Crawford County, Missouri. He died on January 08, 1946. He married Bettie Miller in 1913.
6. Leslie Eugene Adams - Born on December 10, 1894. Died on August of 1898.
7. Guy Emery Adams - Born on Febuary 14, 1898 in Tibbitt, Missouri. He died on Febuary 24, 1952. He was married to Elizabeth Birminham.
8. Floyd Jennings Adams - Born on April 05, 1900 in Rosebud, Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on Febuary 08, 1972. He first married Anna Buehrer in 1925. He married second on August 21, 1955 Edna Toelke Nolting.
9. Ella Enola Adams - Born on September 18, 1901 in Gasconade County, Missouri. She married Bernice Dyhouse on September 26, 1926 in Gasconade County, Missouri.
10. Aubrey Adams - Born on September 18, 1901 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on June 25, 1985 in Gasconade County, Missouri.
11. Lester Raymond Adams - Born on November 05, 1903 in Franklin County, Missouri. He died on June 25, 1985. He was married to Flora Buehrer.
12. John Orland Adams - Born on August 14, 1905 in Gasconade County, Missouri. He died on September 18, 1980. He was married to Eleanor I. Phillips.
