Oromos in the homeland are subjected to human rights and peoples’ rights violations. If that wasn't the case we wouldn't be here. We do what we can to help victims and lobby governments for the respect of human rights in Ethiopia. We need a space to coordinate efforts with Oromo and non-Oromo human rights groups. Right now violence has escalated due to the war with Eritrea. Ethiopian government is sending tens of thousands of Oromo youth and farmers to the war fronts without adequate training to use them as cannon fodder. We are crying out to the international community, and the web site will be a gem. In
view of the escalating violence against our people in the homeland, we
need a space not only to interact among themselves, but also to involve
the wider world in our struggle for basic human rights.
